Vice-President Aleksandra Maletić

Aleksandra Maletić was elected the Vice-President of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina at the constitutive session of the Assembly held on July 31, 2020.

She is a member of the Serbian Progressive Party and a member of the Deputies’ Group “ALEKSANDAR VUČIĆ – FOR OUR CHILDREN” in the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.

Biography

She was born on 2 January 1982, in Novi Sad.

She completed primary school and Grammar School “Svetozar Marković” in Novi Sad. She graduated from the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy. After psychology studies, she attended training for a psychotherapist at the REBT affiliated training centre of the Albert Ellis Institute in New York.

She is employed at the Administration for Property and Property - Legal Affairs. After an internship at the Novi Sad Health Centre and passing the state qualifying exam at the Ministry of Health in 2010, she worked as a counsellor in several organisations for psychotherapeutic work.

She joined the Serbian Progressive Party in 2009 and became a member of its Main Board in 2014.  She is a member of the Executive Board of Serbian Progressive Party.

She was elected a councillor in the Novi Sad City Assembly in 2012 from the list of the Serbian Progressive Party. She was a Member of Parliament from the Serbian Progressive Party in two mandates; she was first elected a Member of Parliament at the National Assembly in 2014 and then in the next mandate in 2016-2020. In the Parliament, she participated in the work of the Committee on Labour, Social Issues, Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction, Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region, Committee on Culture and Information. Moreover, during her term of office as the Member of Parliament, she was a member of the delegation of the National Assembly in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, where she presided the Standing Committee on Dialogue among Civilisations and Human Rights and served as the Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean. In March 2021, she was elected Vice-President of The Chamber of Regions of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. With this election, she became a member of the Bureau of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe in front of the political group EPP (European people’s party).
