Novi Sad, 29 July – President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly, dr Juhász Bálint, today received the farewell visit from the Ambassador of Hungary, Magyar József, marking the conclusion of his diplomatic mandate in the Republic of Serbia.
During the meeting, it was emphasised that in recent years the partnership and friendly relations between Serbia and Hungary reached the highest level in their modern history, which, in addition to strong political and economic cooperation, were reflected in the continued support for preserving the identity of the Hungarian national community in Vojvodina.
President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly thanked Ambassador Magyar for his dedicated years of service and his contribution to strengthening mutual trust between the two countries, as well as for his commitment to enhancing cooperation of particular importance to the Hungarian community in Serbia.
The interlocutors also discussed the importance of continued support for projects aimed at preserving the Hungarian language and culture, promoting education in the mother tongue, and strengthening cross-border cooperation that connects the people and institutions of Serbia and Hungary.
Ambassador Magyar expressed his gratitude for the successful cooperation throughout his mandate and highlighted the importance of relations built on mutual respect and trust. He also underscored the significant contribution of the Hungarian community in Vojvodina to fostering the excellent ties between the two countries.
The interlocutors agreed that the continued development of cooperation between Serbia and Hungary would remain particulaly important in the forthcoming period, both for the two countries and for all their citizens.
