Novi Sad/Timișoara, 3 June - Vice-President of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina, Aleksandra Maletić, was elected today as Vice-President of the Assembly of European Regions (AER) at the AER General Assembly held in Timișoara, the largest and most influential independent network of European regions.
The unanimous election of Vice-President Maletić confirms that the regions represented within AER recognise AP Vojvodina as a reliable and credible partner, committed to actively contributing to the strengthening of interregional cooperation. This position will further enhance AP Vojvodina’s role within AER and create new opportunities for the exchange of experience, the establishment of partnerships, and participation in development initiatives and projects.
During the AER General Assembly in Timișoara, meetings of the Bureau and the Regions’ Forum were held, along with several thematic workshops. Participants also adopted the Timișoara Declaration on Democratic Resilience, reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, combating disinformation, and enhancing cooperation among European regions. 
As the largest independent network of regional authorities in Europe, the Assembly of European Regions (AER) brings together regions with the aim of strengthening interregional cooperation, facilitating knowledge exchange, and advancing European regional policies. AP Vojvodina has been a member of AER since 2002, and this marks the fourth time that a representative of Vojvodina has served as Vice-President of this distinguished organisation.
