Novi Sad, 12th May – President of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Dr Bálint Juhász, attended the conference “AIMedia 2026 – The Future of Media in the Era of Artificial Intelligence”, held today at the Novi Sad Science and Technology Park, organised by Vojvodina Uživo portal, with the support of the Provincial Secretariat for Culture, Public Information, and Relations with Religious Communities.
While opening the conference, President Juhász emphasized that artificial intelligence was one of the key issues of modern society, as it affected almost all areas of life, from the economy and education to public administration, media, and the everyday lives of citizens.
“New technologies bring great opportunities for innovation and development, but at the same time, they raise important questions regarding ethics, security, and trust in information. That is exactly why it is crucial that technology remains at the service of people and society,” President Juhász stated.
He highlighted that Serbia, and especially Novi Sad and Vojvodina, had significant potential in the field of information technology and artificial intelligence, noting that more than 900 IT companies operated in Novi Sad at the moment with over 15,000 employees, while the Novi Sad Science and Technology Park hosted over 70 development teams, start-ups, and research groups, including the Institute for Artificial Intelligence. President Juhász also pointed out that Serbia’s IT and ICT sectors reached an export value of €4.55 billion in 2025, with growth of about 10 percent, having assessed that it was one of the most dynamic and important sectors of the domestic economy.
The conference featured a speech by Dr Mihailo Jovanović, Director of the Office for Information Technology and Electronic Government, and was also attended by Provincial Secretary for Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr Branko Markoski, Novi Sad Mayor Žarko Mićin, as well as representatives from academia, the media industry, and international experts in artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and modern media, who discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on the future of information, communication, and society as a whole.
