Martonoš/Novi Sad, 21st April  – President of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Dr Bálint Juhász, visited today the preschool institution “Naši biseri,” specifically the “Duga” kindergarten in Martonoš, where renovation works have recently been completed funded from the provincial budget.

Alongside President Juhász, the visit was attended by Vice-President of the Provincial Government and Provincial Secretary for Education, Regulations, Administration, and National Minorities – National Communities, Mr Róbert Ótott; member of the Municipal Council in charge of education, Ms Ágnes Bagány; and President of the Municipal Assembly of Kanjiža, Mr Zsombor Újvári. The host of the visit was the institution’s director, Ms Marta Otilija.

The renovation of the “Duga” kindergarten, in the amount of 4.4 million dinars, included waterproofing of the facade and ceilings, which significantly improved the conditions for children and staff.

Addressing the media, President Juhász emphasized that education was one of the key priorities of the provincial administration.

“With today’s example, we want to demonstrate that our words are not hollow, and that our actions are systematic and continuous.  We are particularly pleased that this visit is taking place on World Kindergarten Day, as it further highlights the importance of investing in the youngest members of our society, that is, investing in future,” Mr Juhász stated.

He stressed that the responsibility of institutions was to ensure safe and high-quality conditions for growing up.

“Projects like this directly affect the quality of everyday life for children, as well as for employees in these institutions.  It is particularly important for us to invest in smaller communities such as Martonoš, because we want all children to have equal conditions, regardless of where they live,” he added.

Speaking about the continuity of investments, President Juhász noted that significant funds had been invested in preschool institutions in the Municipality of Kanjiža, as well as across the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.

“Since 2021, nearly 10 million dinars have been invested in preschool education facilities in this municipality through numerous reconstruction, rehabilitation, and equipment projects.  Works have been carried out in several settlements, proving our commitment to balanced development,” Mr Juhász stated, adding that last year alone, 500 million dinars were invested in the development of educational institutions across Vojvodina, covering a total of 88 institutions. From 2016 to 2026, approximately 400 educational institutions across Vojvodina have been renovated, with investments of nearly 3.35 billion dinars.

President Juhász also noted that today’s visit served as an example of good cooperation between all levels of government.

“Only through the joint efforts of provincial institutions, local self-government, and the institutions themselves can we achieve such results.  Our goal is for every preschool and school institution in Vojvodina to be adequately equipped and fully functional,” Mr Juhász concluded.

The President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly emphasized that the provincial administration would continue investing in education.
