Kula / Novi Sad, 16th March – President of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Bálint Juhász , and President of the Provincial Government, Maja Gojković, visited the Municipality of Kula today, where they held talks with the municipality’s officials and toured the reconstruction works at the “Petefi Brigada” Primary School.

President Juhász pointed out that, in the previous period, the Provincial Government had invested significant funds, amounting to 1.5 million euros, into the development of the Municipality of Kula, primarily in tourism, economy, and education.

“It is particularly important that classes at the ‘Petefi Brigada’ Primary School are also conducted in the Hungarian language, thanks to our joint efforts with the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia. I am pleased that state institutions have recognised the need to support the preservation of the mother tongue and culture of the minority community in Kula,” said Mr. Juhász.

President Gojković expressed satisfaction with today’s visit to the primary school, the municipality, and local businesses in Kula, having emphasized that the Provincial Government supported the development of all municipalities in Vojvodina through its investments. She noted that the Provincial Government had allocated 10 million dinars for the renovation of sanitary facilities at the “Petefi Brigada” school, and that the fire protection system would be modernised as well.

During their working visit, Presidents Juhász and Gojković held a meeting with Damjan Miljanić, President of the Municipality of Kula. On that occasion, a contract worth nearly 12 million dinars was awarded for the reconstruction of streets and roads within the municipality.

Earlier, President Juhász had visited the craft shops “Drvostrugar” and “Čelik” in Kula, where he had spoken with the owners and employees. On that occasion, he highlighted that family craft shops represented an important pillar of the local economy, as well as custodians of knowledge and dedication.

“Their significance lies not only in their economic contribution to the community, but also in the transmission of skills from generation to generation, thereby preserving the identity of our communities.  Supporting such workshops means supporting the values of work, entrepreneurship, and the preservation of crafts that are part of our heritage,” Mr. Juhász stated.

Alongside Presidents Juhász and Gojković, the visit was also attended by Provincial Secretary for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities – National Communities, Róbert Ótott, and Provincial Secretary for Economy and Tourism, Nenad Ivanišević.
