23. 01. 2026.The 84th anniversary of the Novi Sad Raid marked

Novi Sad, 23rd January – President of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina Bálint Juhás, together with vice-presidents Milan Subotin and Boris Novaković, attended today the commemoration ceremony marking the 84th Novi Sad Raid anniversary.

In remembrance of more than four thousand victims, primarily Serbs, Jews, and Roma, who were killed during January of 1942, a delegation of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina laid a wreath at the “Family” monument on the Quay of the Victims of the Raid in Novi Sad.

At the commemorative gathering, attendees were addressed by Mayor of Novi Sad, Žarko Mićin. A memorial service of the Serbian Orthodox Church was officiated by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, co-officiated by Metropolitan Irinej of Bačka, while the Chief Rabbi of Serbia, Isak Asiel, conducted the memorial service of the Jewish community.

In honour of the innocent victims, wreaths were also laid by the President of the Provincial Government, Maja Gojković,  representatives of the Embassies of Israel and Hungary, representatives of the cities of Belgrade, Niš, Kragujevac, and other Serbian cities, members of Jewish and Roma communities, descendants of the victims, and others; which was followed by the ceremonial wreath laying into the Danube from a vessel of the Serbian Army River Flotilla.
