Novi Sad, 27th June – President of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Bálint Juhász, met today at the provincial parliament with Mikel Irujo Amezaga, Minister for Industry and for the Ecological and Digital Business Transition of the Spanish region of Navarre.
The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for establishing institutional partnerships and cooperation between Vojvodina and Navarre, particularly in the fields of economy, agriculture, and the IT industry.
President Juhász emphasized that Novi Sad was the IT hub of Serbia, and that in Vojvodina—where agriculture remained the primary economic activity—significant efforts were being made to integrate these two sectors.
“Since the opening of the BioSense Institute in 2015, the Science and Technology Park, and the first digital farm in Bačka Topola, we have been seriously and successfully engaged in data analysis to enhance agricultural production, as we see this as the future,” President Juhász stated.
The meeting concluded that cooperation between the two regions would represent an opportunity to jointly address key issues for the future, such as sustainable industry, environmental protection, and digital solutions that would improve citizens’ quality of life.
The meeting was held as part of the conference “The Added Value of Minority Communities in Cross-Border Regions,” hosted by the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, with participants including representatives of minority communities from several European countries.
