Novi Sad, 20th March - President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly Bálint Juhász spoke today with the editor-in-chief and responsible editor of the daily information portal "Varoš RTV" (Small-town RTV) from Budapest Diana Đurić and representatives of the Serbian national community in Hungary about the continuation and improvement of information in the Serbian language.
"Varoš RTV" has been publishing news and broadcasting radio and TV shows in the Serbian and Hungarian languages for more than five years via internet portals and social networks, striving to bring the Serbian minority community in Hungary closer to topical social and cultural events from the Republic of Serbia, Hungary and the entire region.
"Partnership and friendly relations between Serbia and Hungary have been progressing for years, bringing benefits to the citizens of both countries. The support of the mother countries to the national communities in the diaspora is extremely important, and I am positive that both countries will continue with this practice, which enables the preservation of national identity, culture, tradition, and information," president Juhász pointed out and concluded that providing information in the mother tongue is of vital importance for Hungarians in Vojvodina, and for Serbs in Hungary, as well as for all other national communities.
He considered the possibility of re-establishing the cooperation between "Varoš RTV" and Radio Television of Vojvodina important, as well as cooperation with other media houses, institutions and organisations in AP Vojvodina that could contribute and help the development and enrichment of the programmes of the Serbian community in Hungary.
