Novi Sad, 31 January – President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly, Juhász Bálint, attended today the celebration of the 106th anniversary of the founding of the Vojvodina Chamber of Commerce, as well as the presentation of the “Kosta Mirosavaljević” awards to the most successful companies and individuals.
Welcoming the attendees, President Juhász emphasised that the Vojvodina Chamber of Commerce had been dedicatedly contributing to the economic prosperity of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and the entire Republic of Serbia for more than a century. He mentioned the year 1919 when the then Chamber of Trade, Industry and Crafts was founded, concluding that, in challenging times, industrialists, tradesmen and craftsmen from the area of today’s Vojvodina had managed to overcome the shadow of their time and knowledge.
“The Vojvodina Chamber of Commerce has survived as a business and professional organisation, in eight different state and legal forms, and businessmen from these areas have always had the strength to adapt to the new historical era,” said Juhász.
He pointed out that in the period January-June 2024, 72.2 percent of total Vojvodina exports had been placed on the EU market and that this trend of orientation towards the EU market was also followed by the decision of the Vojvodina Chamber of Commerce to join the Danube Chambers of Commerce Federation.
President of the Vojvodina Chamber of Commerce, Vladimir Gak, underlined that this institution fostered the tradition and heritage of the ancestors and that presently it was of service to the economy in order to be the creator of even better and more successful business operations together with businessmen.
“Our goal is to open new markets in the forthcoming period and open new tools in the operation of the chamber that better recognise the needs of the economy,” said Gak.
The present businessmen were also addressed by Nenad Ivanišević, Provincial Secretary for Economy and Tourism, as well as Predrag Petrović, Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia.
The “Kosta Mirosaljević” awards for this year were presented to the companies “ATB Sever doo” from Subotica, the “Đurđević” meat industry from Subotište near Pećinci, as well as to the following individuals: entrepreneur Zorica Radišić (Farmer cheese (Farmer sir), Čurug) and professor Milan Ubavić M.D. (Medlab, Vinum winery). The Golden Feather of Economy award (Zlatno pero privrede) was presented to the editorial staff of the “Vojvodina Live” (Vojvodina uživo) portal.
