Novi Sad, 13 December – President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly Bálint Juhász attended today a ceremony marking the end of year at the Publishing Institute Forum in Novi Sad, part of which was the celebration of a significant 90th anniversary of “Hid” magazine.

President Juhász congratulated the Forum and all its employees on the anniversary of Hid magazine, as well as on all of the latest publications of the Forum that have significantly contributed to information in the mother tongue, in the sphere of arts, science, culture, education and other.

“Several days ago we had an opportunity to take part in presenting the phraseological dictionary authored by Edita Andrić, which will become an integral part of the pending Serbian-Hungarian dictionary. Publication of this dictionary will provide us with a handbook we will find useful not only in education, culture and science, but also in politics and everyday life, as we understand each other best when we know exactly what the other side is trying to convey”, president Juhász said.

When talking about magazines and other publications of the Forum, such as monographs and artistic publications, president Juhász emphasised that, in addition to the contents of its publications, the said publishing house could take pride in their appearance, characterised by lasting quality and winning, for years, some of the highest awards in the  Beautiful Vojvodinian Hungarian Book competition.

“Next year, owing to the support of 50 million HUF of the Bethlen Gábor Foundation and 8.5 million RSD support of the Provincial Government, the Forum will be enriched by new contents. The cultural centre which is to be constructed at the Magyar Szó building will operate as a café and book store as well, which will provide us with an opportunity to show the richness of Hungarian culture at the heart of Novi Sad”, Juhász said, adding that, together with a kindergarten and conference room at the Magyar Szó and museum of journalism and printing, hundreds of visitors would be able to enjoy the rich programmes.

The literary award of Hid magazine, Forum visual arts award and Hungarian arts in Vojvodina award were presented at the end of the ceremony. The ceremony was also attended by the Provincial Secretary for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities Róbert Ótott.
