Novi Sad, 19 November - President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly Bálint Juhász participated today in the “eMobility 4 Sustainability” Forum, which was organised by the Faculty of Technical Sciences (FTS) of the University of Novi Sad, EV Days Exhibition and Conference and the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina, in cooperation with a Hungarian company IKARUS.
While greeting the participants of the Forum dedicated to the possibilities of using electricity as a fuel for passenger vehicles and also for buses, President Juhász emphasized the importance of innovations and scientific and technological discoveries for improving the quality of everyday life and work.
“The magnitude of the scientific community’s commitment we witness today at the Faculty of Technical Sciences of the University of Novi Sad. At the political level, we witnessed the commitment last week as well, when at the Second Session of the Council for Strategic Cooperation between Serbia and Hungary, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of Serbia and the Ministry of Culture and Innovation of Hungary,” said President Juhász and pointed out that in the time of global climate warming, the topic of introducing electric buses into public transport was extremely important and topical.
President Juhász stressed that an improvement of the quality of public transport, including the introduction of electric buses, was among the goals of the 2023-2030 AP Vojvodina Development Plan.
“Electromobility changes everything, not only the social and ecological environment, not only the level of pollution and noise - electromobility changes our way of thinking and understanding the world as well, and gives hope that we can build a sustainable and clean future,” stated President Juhász.
At the opening of the Forum, where the Hungarian company IKARUS’ electric midi bus IK80e and the electric solo bus IK120e were presented, the participants were addressed by Ambassador of Hungary to the Republic of Serbia, József Magyar, Dean of the FTS, prof.
