15. 10. 2024.Agreement Signing on Hungary’s Appearance as Partner Country at Tourism Fair

Novi Sad, 15 October - President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly Bálint Juhász attended today the ceremonial agreement signing on the appearance of Hungary as the Partner Country at the upcoming 55 International Tourism Fair, which will take place at the Novi Sad Fair from 28 to 30 November.

The agreement was signed by the General Manager of the Novi Sad Fair Nikola Lovrić and Deputy General Manager of the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA) Andrea Nestor, while president Juhász expressed his great pleasure for having the opportunity to mediate in bringing Hungary as a Partner Country to this year’s Tourism Fair.

“The extremely good relations of the two countries give sound foundation for further enhancement of economic relations, and specifically in the field of tourism. If we consider the development of tourism in Hungary, the spa, wine, cycling and other types of tourism, Vojvodina has a model to look up to and we can learn a lot from our neighbours. On the other hand, in addition to Belgrade and the rest of Serbia, our target market is Hungary due to the vicinity of the border, but other countries as well, since our objective is to place Vojvodina on a higher level at the European and global tourist map”, said president Juhász.

He added that a lot has been done in Vojvodina in terms of the accommodation capacities and quality, which will be presented at the upcoming fair. President Juhász thanked the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and HEPA Agency for accepting the initiative and recognising the importance of the Tourism Fair.

General Manager of the Novi Sad Fair Nikola Lovrić thanked president Juhász for helping to implement the idea to make Hungary the Partner Country of the Tourism Fair.

“By signing this agreement we demonstrate the continuation of good neighbourly relations and cooperation of Hungary and the Novi Sad Fair. Two years ago, Hungary was also our Partner at the Agricultural Fair, making this the logical sequence of events”, said Lovrić and added that the Novi Sad Fair faced another challenged since it intended to raise this event to the higher level and consequently give support the largest global event which would take place in Serbia in 2027 “Specialised Expo 2027 BELGRADE”.

Deputy General Manager of (HEPA) Andrea Nestor said that the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade accepted with pleasure the invitation to present Hungary as the Partner Country of the Tourism Fair with the aim of further developing good relations of two countries.

The traditional Tourism Fair at the Novi Sad Fair is one of the most important events in the field of tourism in the region, which gathers entrepreneurs, tourism agencies, hoteliers and tourist workers. This fair is an ideal platform to promote new tourist offers and trends, exchange experience through numerous thematic conferences and panels, as well as to create new business collaborations.
