Novi Sad, 11th October - President of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina Bálint Juhász spoke today with rector of the University of Novi Sad, prof. Dejan Madić PhD, and vice-rector for international cooperation prof. Otilija Sedlak PhD.

At the meeting, they talked about the good cooperation the APV Assembly and the University of Novi Sad have had so far, programmes and projects in the fields of international and regional cooperation, as well as initiatives for further strengthening of education and scientific research.

Pointing out that the University of Novi Sad and the provincial administration aim to create a better future for students and the entire society, President Juhász emphasized the importance of education and taking entrance exams in the student’s mother tongue.

The exceptional partnership relations between the University of Novi Sad and university centres and faculties in Hungary were also discussed, and President Juhász and Rector Madić expressed particular satisfaction that the two-day Hungarian Rectors’ Conference would be held in Subotica and Novi Sad, and that the representatives of the University of Novi Sad would be the conference’s guest participants.

The University of Novi Sad, with nearly 50,000 students and five thousand employees, is one of the largest scientific and educational centres in Central Europe, covering almost all areas of science and higher education. 

Around 350 accredited study programmes at the Bachelor, Master, Specialist and Doctoral studies are realised within the University, and its faculties and institutes are located in four cities in AP Vojvodina: Novi Sad, Subotica, Sombor and Zrenjanin.
