Senta/Novi Sad, 26 September - President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly, Juhász Bálint, attended today the “Suliexpo” education fair in Senta, where future students and their parents heard the presentations of grammar schools and secondary schools from the AP Vojvodina, where classes are held in the Hungarian language.
After the “Eduexpo” fair, in which higher education institutions from Vojvodina, where studies are conducted entirely or partially in the Hungarian language, participated yesterday, todays educational exhibition was intended for 8th grade students.
In his address to the attendees, President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly, Juhász Bálint, emphasised the importance of education in the mother tongue and concluded that the fair events in Senta were an ideal opportunity for future secondary school students to familiarise with all the possibilities for further education and affirmation in one place.
“I strongly agree with the words of the famous Hungarian Nobel laureate Albert Szent-Györgyi, who said that the quality of our future depended on the quality of our schools of today. The “Suliexpo” fair is an ideal opportunity for final grade students to gain a first-hand knowledge of a wide range of options for continuing education in their mother tongue,” said Juhász and expressed his satisfaction with the fact that visitors would be able to learn about 29 secondary schools and grammar schools with classes held in the Hungarian language.
President Juhász pointed out that education in the mother tongue, in addition to contributing to the preservation of identity, language and culture, enabled students to acquire much more extensive knowledge and a better understanding of the subject matter.
The fair events “Eduexpo” and “Suliexpo” are organised by the National Council of the Hungarian National Minority, in cooperation with the Hungarian Language Teacher Training Faculty in Subotica, in partnership with the Municipality of Senta.
