24. 09. 2024. The 17th International Forum for Clean Energy Technologies opened

Novi Sad, 24th September - The 17th International Forum for Clean Energy Technologies, with the title “Strategic Changes in National and Energy Policies”, which is traditionally organised by the Institute for European Affairs (INEA) and the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, was opened today at the Assembly of AP Vojvodina under the auspices of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina and the Provincial Secretariat for Energy, Construction and Transport.

Opening this year’s Forum, President of AP Vojvodina Assembly, Bálint Juhász , pointed out that year after year, this expert gathering emphasized the importance of connecting science, politics and economy, as well as the importance of working together to build an energy-safe, sustainable, green and clean energy future of Serbia. 

“On the subject of the national energy policy, I am convinced that Serbia, by forming the Strategic Council for cooperation with Hungary and especially by signing a series of agreements in the field of energy, has positioned itself as a reliable partner and an active participant in the energy transition processes”, said president Juhász and noted that at the first session of the Strategic Council for Cooperation between Serbia and Hungary, the “Memorandum of Understanding on the Construction of the Hungary-Serbia Oil Pipeline from Algyo to Novi Sad” was signed with the plan that the construction of this oil pipeline would be completed until 2028.

Juhász emphasized that by building a new oil pipeline to Hungary, Serbia would ensure a more secure supply of the domestic market and the Novi Sad oil refinery with 5.5 million tons per year, thus ensuring the diversification of supply sources and routes. 

The Forum chairman, Tihomir Simić, emphasized that by holding this Forum, Novi Sad represented the energy gravitational point of South-Eeast Europe for the seventeenth time.

“Our joint vision is, by proposing new energy policies, through examples of good practice and use of new technological solutions, to stimulate more tangible use of available potentials in our country”, Simić said, adding that doing so would increase the cooperation and development of energy sector in the neighbouring countries and direct the future to projections of the EU in that sphere. 

“TOP ENERGY2024” awards were presented at the Forum, for most successful projects in the field of energy. This years laureates included companies INTRA LIGHTING” D.O.O., Tehnomarket D.O.O and Fonet D.O.O., along with individuals - Boško Vučurević, vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina and Ljubo Maćić, advisor to the minister of mining and energy in the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

The Forum was attended by vice-president of the AP Vojvodina Assembly Boris Novaković and Secretary General Sandra Stojković, PhD. Those present were addressed by president of the Council of the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia Dejan Popović, director of the Science and Technology Park Dejan Kolaković, dean of the Faculty of Technical Sciences Boris Dumnić, deputy head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Serbia Plamena Halačeva, Ambassador of Hungary in Belgrade József Magyar, assistant minister of mining and energy Jovana Joksimović and provincial secretary for energy, construction and mining Bojan Vranjković.
