Novi Sad/Mórahalom, 7th September - Bálint Juhász, President of AP Vojvodina Assembly, attended in Mórahalom, today the ceremony marking the 35th anniversary since this settlement was granted city status.
On the occasion of the jubilee, which is very important for Mórahalom and its citizens, President Juhász sent his heartiest congratulations to Mayor Zoltán Nógrádi, stating that Mórahalom and the entire Csongrád County were extremely important for AP Vojvodina, considering the long-term cooperation, partnership and friendly relations.
President Juhász pointed out that, in addition to being an attractive tourist destination, Mórahalom was also important for the citizens of Vojvodina from an economic point of view, taken into account that it had a developed industrial zone where citizens from our provinces border area found jobs as well.
„With the heartiest congratulations and wishes for further economic, tourist and cultural development and prosperity of this city, I express the hope and belief that Mórahalom and the cities and municipalities from Vojvodina will continue to cherish their relations and improve cooperation for the mutual benefit of their citizens“, said President Juhász, emphasizing the great role of Mórahalom in cross-border cooperation between Hungary and Serbia, which has so far produced great results, as well as the intention to continue this cooperation, both with this city and with other Hungarian cities and counties.
Besides the celebration of the 35th anniversary, the 60th anniversary of the existence of St. Elisabeth Spa was also marked, and representatives of the Government of Hungary, Tibor Navracsics, Minister of Public Administration and Urban Planning and Sándor Farkas, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, also spoke at the ceremony.
