Novi Sad, September 7th - At the invitation of the rector of the University of Szeged Prof. Dr. László Rovó, President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly Bálint Juhász attended today the official session of the Senate of this prestigious higher institution, on the occasion of starting the 2024/2025 academic year.
The University of Szeged is one of the largest and most prestigious educational centres in Hungary, with 12 faculties which offer high-quality education in the broadest range of higher education. According to the Rector, at this University, which achieves excellent results in various international rankings of higher education institutions, more than 22 thousand students, including close to five thousand international students, enrich their knowledge and acquire prominent competences for the future.
Expressing pleasure for attending this ceremony, President Juhász pointed out that he agreed with the assessment that the University of Szeged, as one of the largest academic institutions, in addition to the educational role, also has an active and significant role in the overall social, economic and cultural development of the entire region.
„A large number of citizens of the AP Vojvodina have acquired education at the University of Szeged. Later, using a very high-
quality knowledge they acquired during their studies, they have contributed to their communities and region they live in by using this knowledge in their professional careers“, said President Juhász and emphasised that the AP Vojvodina Assembly would, as before, offer full support to the long-standing and productive cooperation between the University of Novi Sad and the University of Szeged.
Within the ceremony, a renovated permanent exhibition titled „Katalin Karikós Journey to the Nobel Prize and Beyond was officially opened while János Bóka, Minister of EU affairs also addressed the audience.
