Novi Sad, 5 September -  President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly Bálint Juhász, Vice-Presidents of the AP Vojvodina Assembly Damir Zobenica, Aleksandra Maletić, Nemanja Zavišić and Boris Novaković, together with the representatives of six assembly committees, held a meeting today with the Zhejiang Province Delegation from China, which is in the official visit to our country.

Pointing out his pleasure due to the additional step in bringing closer the AP Vojvodina and Chinese provinces, President Juhász stated that strategic partnership between the Republic of Serbia and the Peoples Republic of China gives momentum in strengthening relations which should be used to its full potential. He emphasised that today’s visit is an excellent precondition for connecting with Zhejiang and that it is especially important that this province joins the list of eight Chinese provinces with which Vojvodina has established close partnership and signed cooperation agreements.

”For the AP Vojvodina, Zhejiang is an example how one smaller province, for Chinese circumstances, can be very successful, economically developed and progressive. Among other things, we are connected primarily by the fields of IT industry and agriculture, therefore the cooperation in these sectors would be extremely important and mutually beneficial”, said Juhász.

The president of the provincial parliament explained to the guests from China the organisation and work of the AP Vojvodina Assembly, and the specific features of our province as well as the multicultural and multilingual regions and the most significant branches and potentials of economy, tourism, agriculture and education.

Vice-President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly Damir Zobenica underscored the significance of steel friendship and the comprehensive partnership of two countries as well as the great friendship between President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and President of the Peoples Republic of China Xi Jinping.

„Our country is located between the East and the West and endeavours to develop good cooperation with everybody. However, the fact is that the key projects, which are strategically important for our country, were entrusted to the Chinese partners. When it comes to the AP Vojvodina, right now, Chinese companies are working on the construction the Belgrade - Subotica railway, the greatest road project „Vojvodina Smile“, the simultaneous construction of two bridges on the river Danube as well as the on the construction of a tunnel through Fruška gora. This all speaks of the strength of our relations“, said Zobenica and noted the firm, consistent and principled political relations of two countries, strategic economic investments and large Chinese assistance in times of emergency, such as the Corona virus pandemic.

Zhejiang Province delegation, which included members of the Standing Committee of the Peoples Congress of this Chinese province in charge of various fields from agriculture to culture and education, told the AP Vojvodina Assembly delegation that it is very interested in establishing closer relations and substantial forms of cooperation.
