04. 09. 2024.President Juhász at the conference on professional education in the field of entrepreneurship

Novi Sad, 4 September - President of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina Bálint Juhász addressed today the participants of the conference “Empowering interns through VET entrepreneurship” which is implemented within the two-year project “Grow-in VET”, supported by the European Commission.

The conference is organised by “MeOut” organisation in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina, with the aim to develop a system of professional education in the countries of the Western Balkans, whose representatives are also the participants of this event.

Expressing great pleasure due to the fact that the AP Vojvodina takes part in the programme, which includes the entire Western Balkans, President Juhász pointed out that, in addition to cross-border projects, it is important to participate and cooperate within the broader, regional cooperation.

“The improvement of the system of professional education is a very important topic and common goal for all countries of the Western Balkans. Also, this is an opportunity to send together a powerful message to the European Union on the topic of enlargement, which is that we are able to, we want to cooperate and we have something to show”, emphasised Juhász.

“The project “Grow-in VET” was supported by the European Commission and I believe that the key to success of this kind of events is to enable institutions across our region, including Vojvodina, to use opportunities and good practice which will be mentioned here in order to enable young people to acquire experience and knowledge”, said Juhász and added that he supports the organiser’s vision on strengthening professional training in the countries of the region in order to improve training of professionals who would be competitive in the local community and beyond.

“In order to achieve that, we must constantly work on the modernisation of educational systems and the adjustment to modern trends. Or, as a famous Hungarian Nobel Laureate Albert Szent-Györgyi said “The future will be, like schools are today”, said Juhász and emphasised that education, transfer of knowledge and strengthening the expertise in young people is crucial for the future.

The president of the provincial parliament underscored that for the AP Vojvodina this conference is especially important because it offers us an opportunity to strengthen our position in the field of professional education and mobility.

“By including entrepreneurial elements in VET (vocation, education and training), interns can develop key competences such as creativity, innovative thinking and solving complex situations. These elements decisively impact the development of abilities and self-confidence of interns, and prepare them for the world of entrepreneurship”, said Juhász.

As the organisers stated, one of the main goals of this event is to bring innovations and business world closer to the professional education and to convey examples of good practice for the support of the educational sector at the labour market.

The conference participants were also addressed by the Provincial Secretary for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities - National Communities Ótott Róbert as well as numerous experts from the field of professional education, management and business.
