Batumi/Novi Sad, 13 June - President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly Juhász Bálint and Vice-President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly Damir Zobenica spoke today in the Georgian city of Batumi with the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Adjara Autonomous Republic Davit Gabaidze about the possibilities of establishing cooperation between the AP Vojvodina and this Georgian republic.

As it was pointed out during the meeting, friendly and partnership relations of the Republic of Serbia and Georgia are an exceptional incentive for the development of closer partnership relations between the AP Vojvodina and Adjara, while the potential for cooperation exists in various fields starting from agriculture to science and tourism.

Adjara, one of the most developed regions in Georgia, lies along the coast of the Black Sea with the capital of Batumi as a crucial port for trade on the Black Sea and a prestigious tourist destination. As it was said during the meeting, over 4 million people visited this tourist gem of Georgia last year.

President Juhász, Vice-President Zobenica and Governor Gabaidze expressed their satisfaction with the mutually demonstrated intention and desire to connect our regions, which, according to them, should include business entities and institutions, educational and scientific centres and others in addition to the institutional framework.

Juhász and Zobenica sent an invitation to the leaders of Adjara to visit the AP Vojvodina so as to substantiate and accelerate the initiatives that started today.
