Bálint Juhász

Biography

Juhász Bálint was born on 7 November 1982 in Subotica.  

He completed his Master studies of economics at the Faculty of Economics, University of Novi Sad in Subotica, at the study programme of Agribusiness, with the specific field of scientific interest being Investment analysis of agricultural investments. He graduated at the same faculty, having completed the study programme of Business investment systems, in the field of structural analysis and designs. He is currently pursuing the postgraduate studies at the University of Agriculture and Life Sciences in Hungary.

He has been a member of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (AVH, Serbian: SVM) since 2006. In the period from 2007 to 2011, he was the Vice-President of the AVH and since 2007 has been continuously elected a member of the AVH. Since 2019, he has been elected the President of the Executive Committee of the SVM on three occasions. 

In the period from 2016, he was the manager of the “Prosperitati” Foundation which has implemented the Vojvodina Economic Development Programme, based on the Strategy for the territorial and economic development of Hungarian communities in Vojvodina and developed at the initiative of the President of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians, István Pásztor. From 2022 to 2024 he was the president of the Municipal Assembly of Mali Iđoš.  

In 2004 he was a councillor at the Municipal Assembly of Mali Iđoš, while as the advisor to the president of the Municipal Assembly of Mali Iđoš (2008-2012), he was in charge of implementation of the IPA cross-border cooperation projects, cooperation with authorities of local self-government and local communities and preparation and implementation of strategic documents.  In the period from 2007 to 2008, he was the acting director of the Public Enterprise for Construction Land and Roads of the Municipality of Mali Iđoš. In the period from 2010 to 2012, he was a member of the Management Board of the Vojvodina Investment Promotion Fund (VIP). As the Deputy Provincial Secretary at the Provincial Secretariat for Economy, Employment and Gender Equality (2012-2016), he was in charge of the MFA development programmes, enhancement of active employment measures and implementation of the IPA interregional cross-border cooperation projects.  

As part the student exchange programme, he spent one semester at the Faculty of State and Law Sciences, Centre for European Studies, at the University of Szeged. In 2008, he continued the professional studying of the work of EU institutions and authorities, European integration processes and project management as an intern at the office of Kinga Gál, Member of the European Parliament.  He has been a participant, coach and instructor in a number of trainings organised by the National Democratic Institute (NDI) “Robert Schumann” Institute, HUN-IDA UNDP, Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence, Széchenyi István College and Local Democracy Agency. 

He is married and has three children.
